John K. Snyder III has been a veteran in the comics field for over thirty years, and has worked for nearly every major publisher throughout his career. John is known for his distinctive, graphic style and attention to detail in his work. Credits include work on key issues of the 1980’s run of DC Comics' SUICIDE SQUAD as well as covers for the 2007 mini-series and promotional covers for the 2021 SUICIDE SQUAD movie written and directed by James Gunn. Other published/licensed covers and trading card, pin-up, and gallery pieces include GREEN LANTERN, VAMPIRELLA, STAR TREK, STAR WARS, THE SHADOW, THE SPECTRE, PLANET OF THE APES, JONNY QUEST, THE SPIRIT, THE A-TEAM, DUKE NUKEM, JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA, HARLAN ELLISON'S EDGEWORKS, HARLAN ELLISON'S PHOENIX WITHOUT ASHES, and many others. Additional cover work includes a run of classic cover re-creations for THE OVERSTREET PRICE GUIDE featuring the FANTASTIC FOUR, DAREDEVIL, THE HULK, THOR, X-MEN, IRON MAN, and the Golden Age JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA. In collaboration with Matt Wagner, Snyder co/created the Pieter Cross version of the classic Golden Age character DOCTOR MID-NITE for DC Comics. Other work includes the landmark GOD AND THE DEVIL story arc of Matt Wagner’s GRENDEL. John is also known as the creator of the groundbreaking alternative comic series FASHION IN ACTION, featuring the adventures of an all-female celebrity protection agency in the late, far-out 21st century. John also co-created the 1980’s noir series LEO KRAGG:THE PROWLER with Timothy Truman and Michael Price. Collaborating once again with writer Matt Wagner on ZORRO for Dynamite Entertainment, John co-created LADY ZORRO. John’s graphic novel adaptation of LAWRENCE BLOCK’S classic detective novel EIGHT MILLION WAYS TO DIE featuring MATTHEW SCUDDER and published by IDW was released to international critical acclaim. John is actively involved in developing future graphic novel projects including returning to his creator-owned series FASHION IN ACTION and further adaptations of the LAWRENCE BLOCK MATTHEW SCUDDER detective series.
